District 2 has been informed that we are one of the districts impacted by a data breach at PowerSchool. The District stores some of our staff and student information on PowerSchool’s computers. PowerSchool has confirmed that the breach was in their system and not related to any District action. 

The program will ultimately provide the District’s elementary students the opportunity to leave BSD2 schools in eighth grade ready for advanced Spanish classes and the potential to obtain the Biliteracy Seal in high school. 

Daily student attendance is improving all across Bensenville School District 2. By recognizing students who show up on time and ready to learn each day, and by helping families build good attendance habits, our schools are aiming to build on that growth.

Friday, January 17, is the second-trimester mid-term. Second-trimester mid-term progress reports will be shared on Tuesday, January 28.

Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Mobile Market Pantry will distribute free, nutritious food on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last, from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, at Fenton High School, 1000 W. Green Street in Bensenville. Please do not line up before 3:30 p.m. due to school dismissal schedule.

The Illinois State Board of Education has released the 2024 Illinois Report Cards. Bensenville School District 2 is proud to celebrate that all three of our schools have earned a Commendable Designation. This designation is based on several indicators: academic achievement/growth, attendance rates, and the 5 Essentials Survey.

The budget authorizes about $46.4 million of revenue, and $57 million in expenditures, including $11 million for the renovation of Blackhawk Middle School. The renovation costs are being paid for with cash on hand from before the year began. Without the renovation costs, the budget has a modest surplus of about $600,000, or 1.3 percent of revenue.
